HALLOWEEN

ORIGINS OF HALLOWEEN

The word Halloween is a shortening of "All Hallows' Evening" or
 "All Hallows' Eve".

This festivity has its origins in an ancient  Celtic festival called Samhain that celebrates the end of the harvest season. The ancient Gaels believed that on October 31st, the boundaries between the worlds of the living and the dead overlapped.
